@ballader1 but you don;t need that much engine. and after all FP more than viruses……

@watchonutube The lag can be fixed, in the false positives part here is my thinking: better having a lot of false positives than having a lot of viruses ;-)

@ballader1 too many strong engine it will make you computer very lag, and many false postive compatibility is also an issue

@ballader1 Avast is good at prevention not scanning

ballader1 August 1, 2010 at 3:25 am

@ahmeeeeeeeeeeeed after my malwarebytes scan, mbam found 76 infected objects!

ballader1 August 1, 2010 at 3:37 am

@ahmeeeeeeeeeeeed in my test it didn’t, I’m not sure why

ahmeeeeeeeeeeeed August 1, 2010 at 4:07 am

@ballader1 Avast detects well

ballader1 August 1, 2010 at 4:18 am

@ahmeeeeeeeeeeeed Why?? Avast isn’t as good as COMODO or Kaspersky or Norton or A-SQUARED or BitDefender. I test antiviruses, I just don’t make videos. Here are the best antiviruses for me

1.Kaspersky (10 malware links blocked out of 10)
2.Norton (9 out of 10)
3.A-SQUARED (7 out of 10)
4.COMODO (5 out of 10)
5.BitDefender (5 out of 10, but higher memory usage than comodo)

In my tests Avast came 7th. (

Maybe be better results if select all 4 scan engines for internet acess? Can you please very much retest with this setting after a some time?

languy99 August 1, 2010 at 7:58 am

@victorh2007 Very high, during scanning it was using over 300MB of ram

victorh2007 August 1, 2010 at 8:30 am

Trustport – 4 different antivirus combined to work together, but it was not capable to deal with 10 malware links. I also suppose Trustport has a high memory usage. Great review! Thanks a lot!
